After seeing TV Reporter Laura Nilsson abducted on live TV while her camera crew is killed, Navy Seal Javier Corbray vows to get even with her abductor. Eighteen months later, Javier is chosen for a mission to kill the leader of an al Qaeda splinter group in Pakistan. While on the mission, he finds Laura alive. Now two years later, Laura is working as a journalist for the I-Team in Denver, specializing in veteran's issues, when she is threatened by her former captor. When Javi and Laura meet again and he hears about the threats, he is determined to keep her safe.

Javier and Laura first met in Dubai and never forgot each other after a "no strings" erotic weekend. When Javier's team rescues Laura from the al Qaeda compound, she is in shock and doesn't recognize him under his gear. But years later, they immediately strike up a friendship when they meet again at a party in Denver. When Laura's life is threatened and she is a victim of a bombing, Javier takes it upon himself to act as her bodyguard until the threat is neutralized.

Another great addition to Pamela Clare's I-Team series. I totally loved Javi and Laura. Their relationship is complicated with nightmares of the past and the fact he is now allowed to tell her he was one of her rescuers. The suspense portion is interesting and brings back many characters from past books in the series. This book is a winner. My rating: 5 Stars.
