If you are looking for something a little different-this is it. An original concept that manages to be outrageously funny and tragically realistic throughout. This is the story of John Kaltenbrunner, a red-neck kind of guy. The novel details his life in the Midwest. John hails from a dysfunctional family. He is a quiet, bookish child that wants only to labor on the family farm and raise his livestock. An intelligent, capable young man, John should have been allowed to do what he loved and did best. But, as in real life, others thought they had better plans for John. For those of you that have always wanted to fight back against the establishment-this book is for you! The writer will take you to the extremes of emotion. A kick in the gut here, an occasional tear but mostly have you rolling on the floor laughing. Not an easy book to read but as you get accustomed to the author's style you won't hesitate to finish the tale. This one will leave you pondering about how we raise our children and might make you feel a little guilty about how we view other people. This book is about US and how we treat THEM.
