Without giving away what happens in book 2, all I can say is....

Cat was taken from Bones, well they are together again in book 2. people want Cat dead and Bones has a big problem with that and he will do whatever it takes to protect his lady love. but don't think Cat is helpless in all of this, she still kicks major butt.

I love the Night Huntress series. Before I cracked open the book I thought, "Am I really going to like this, it sounds corny." Boy was I wrong. I couldn't read it fast enough. I suggest starting with book 1 and having the other 3 ready to go before you start the series. You aren't going to want to what for the next one.
