The author makes a strong argument that Mary Magdalene was the same person as Mary of Bethany and that Magdalene did not mean "from Magdala" because that town did not exist at the time (the town that was there was called something else long before and long after Mary was alive). Also the author makes a strong argument that Jesus and Mary were indeed married. She compares their union to other ancient mythological couples such as Isis and Osiris. She explains what gematria is, which I had never heard of before. Beautiful color pictures of paintings, tapestries and stained glass windows are included and the author refers to each one of them, describing symbolic elements in them.

I found the book very interesting and not too hard too "over my head" to read. I like the author's method of logic and showing facts and where assumptions by others were made. There is a CD included with the book of a lecture given by the author. I listened to it halfway through reading the book and I would recommend you listen to it BEFORE you read the book. She is a very interesting speaker and introduces all the info she covered in the book.
