A vast improvement over the last couple books. Back to the pack and the core characters we've been getting to know through the first six books.
Play of Passion dials down the sidebars and focuses on the central romantic couple and reserving a few pages for developing future story for Hawk/Sienna and giving us a bit of a visit with Judd and Brenna, Riley and Mercy. What we didn't have to do was wade through pages and pages of story about random Psy nefariousness that doesn't do enough to further the story to make it interesting.
Singh does create enough plot tension to keep things interesting and this book really sets the stage for the next phase in the Psy Council war.
