On paper, movie reviewer Violet Epps is a savvy, sassy critic, but in real life, she's a doormat. That is, until she more-or-less accidentally becomes hostess to the late Dorothy Parker, that outspoken, outragous, cynical voice of the 1920s New York literary subset known as The Algonquin Circle.
