The Message in the Hollow Oak (Nancy Drew Mystery Stories)

Yet another story under this title (either the 3rd or 4th I've read), this one set mostly in Canada, as is one of the others, but this version concerns a property Nancy has won in a TV contest, a property other people seem to think is valuable, since almost from the minute she wins, people are trying to buy or steal it. There's a train crash, much kidnapping and assault of random men, an old (well, twenty years) romance involving the hollow oak, and many plots to hijack whatever valuable minerals Nancy's property may contain and prevent Nancy from seeing her property. This being 1970s Nancy Drew, nothing very bad happens to anyone, the bad guys get their just desserts, and the good guys live happily ever after. None of the 'Message in the Hollow Oak' stories are particularly great, and this is no better and no worse than the others, although the actual message in this hollow oak is even less dramatic than the others.

If you're looking for a particular story under this title, please note that this is not the same as the story where Nancy and her friends join a geological/archaeological expedition to Canada.
