Book Review of Smart Mouth

Smart Mouth
Smart Mouth
Author: Erin McCarthy
Genre: Romance
Book Type: Mass Market Paperback
reviewed I don't actively hate many books, but... on

I was surprised and disappointed with this book. I really like Erin McCarthy, but I could not get into this story. The heroine is anything but. Reese Hampton is unsympathetic and stupid. Unsympathetic as in, "I don't care if I compromise a Federal investigation and Special Agent Derek Knight's career. I will get my newspaper story and save my own career." And stupid, "I really don't care if I put my own life in danger. I take for granted that the Agent whose career I am about to tank will rescue me."

The above are NOT direct quotes from the book. They simply exemplify Reese's attitude. Her moments of doubt about her actions are so few and far between as to be unbelievable, especially when coupled with her decisions to continue her interference.

Derek Knight, the FBI agent, seems to only think with his boy parts.

I could find no redeeming value in this novel.
