I love books that let you choose a side. This novel delves very deeply into the hearts of each character, especially the main protagonist, Anna, but doesn't force you to think one way or the other about their choices and beliefs.
The freedom of movement when reading it translated into an extraordinary exposition of the struggle to keep their daughter, Kate, alive and keep the peace as a family. What's the right choice for Anna to make? Should she give up her kidney because she loves her sister? Or is that just making her a harvesting ground for possible cures?
If you have seen the movie and enjoyed it, you will fall for this book a thousand times over. It blows the film out of the water.
