I think anyone that gave this a bad review was unable to read Running with Scissors with an open mind. I won't talk much about personal opinion...but this book was dark, strange, eccentric, graphic, sexual, EXTREMELY funny, and stunning. I can see where the bad reviews would come from (esp. those repulsed by same-sex relations), but i personally read mostly for entertainment. If that is why you read...this book delivers!!! Sure, it seems a litte "off" and maybe even fabricated, but it is nonetheless hilarious, grim, and a pleasure to read. Besides, who is anyone to say what an author writes is true or not??? I can't wait to read others by Burroughs...
