Very disappointing. Ehrenreich's adolescent mystical experience doesn't seem that unusual or inexplicable.

Her first two chapters stuck me as in "waiting for Godot" mode because she didn't even describe the central event of the book until chapter three. From then on it was pretty boring.

I found this a self-indulgent memoir that probably wouldn't have gotten published if the author didn't already have a big name.
