Book Review of No Stones: Women Redeemed from Sexual Shame

No Stones: Women Redeemed from Sexual Shame

Excellent book! It was purchased because we are recovering from an affair. The "other" woman was someone very close to me...someone I'd known since she was a child. It turned out, she had a secret sex life which involved numerous affairs - mostly with married men. My husband had never been with anyone but me and I wanted to understand how this could all happen. I learned a lot about her, but mostly I learned much about myself. It was interesting that "both" the women in my husband's life came from a background of sexual abuse.

This book was so informative that I gave it to the nurse manager at our local free pregnancy clinic. So many of the clients that are seen there come from abuse backgrounds and turn into sexual predators. Definitely a "must" (although personally difficult) "read" if your life has been touched by a sexual predator or if you work with such people.

As a side note - I would NOT recommend that an unfaithful spouse who had an affair with a sexual predator read this. It is written with compassion and insight, but the unfaithful spouse must sever ALL connections and not be encouraged in positive feelings for the person s/he had an affair with (our counselors recommendation - and a very good one too).
