Lenobia Whitehall is sixteen years old and living in France with her half-sister Celia and her mother. Lenobia works like a servant while her sister gets everything she wants, which is very disheartening to Lenobia. When Celia comes down with ague and passes away, her mother takes swift action to ensure Lenobias future.

She finds a ship that is bound for New Orleans where the girls aboard will be married off to wealthy aristocrats. To ensure Lenobias future, she has her act like she is Celia and ensures that the Ursuline Nuns chaperon her. But an evil bishop has had his eyes on Lenobia for some time.

Charles deBeaumont is traveling to New Orleans by order of the Catholic Church. He desired Lenobia as his mistress when he saw her in France, so he sees through her disguise immediately when they find themselves on the same ship. Knowing that he can reveal her true identity before they make port, Lenobia hides in her cabin, only going out in the early morning, to the stables. There, she meets Martin Rillieux and quickly falls in love. However, the bishop has other ideas and Lenobia will have to use everything she possesses if she hopes to have a promising future.

LENOBIAS VOW features one of the secondary characters in the HOUSE OF NIGHT series. Lenobia is Zoey Redbirds favorite teacher and in LENOBIAS VOW, we get a deeper glimpse into her past, giving more clarification on her present character. A short read, but compelling and suspenseful. HOUSE OF NIGHT SERIES readers wont want to miss this one!
