Part of my dislike is my own fault. I downloaded this audiobook without reading the blurb because I've always enjoyed this author without hesitation. This book was probably a really fun writing experiment to see if a thriller can be written "backwards." However, as a listener I was irritated from the get-go because I thought the download had gone wrong. (You start with Chapter 36 but you really are supposed to start there, and the forward is actually the epilogue.) I also hate books where I feel tricked by the author because I feel like it violates the unwritten pact between authors and readers. If you like that twist, then this may be a great book for you.
