First a tremendous cyclone shakes Rocky Ridge farmhouse. Then a long drought and a terrible fire invade the little farm in the Ozarks. These are rough times for Laura and Almanzo and young daughter Rose Wilder. This book continues the story that Laura told of her own childhood.
