Folks who have little time to prep ingredients, saute, take time to wash, chop, and add herbs or select spices, and to give the long slow bake that many complicated dishes require for flavor development might want to check out the "cooking with -- take your pick -- 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 ingredients, because recipes are simple and direct (do this, do that, do the next and the next) and you're finished in about10 minutes of prep.

If that sounds good to you some (but perhaps not all) of the recipes in this book may please you. No one is pleased by all recipes in any cookbook, but this book has served me well during football and baseball season, for holiday parties where I fear to ask "what can I bring?" lest I be stuck with hours of cooking, and for family or friend get togethers where food is involved - isn't that each time folks visit folks?

This is a good auxiliary book for a beginner or a suddenly-single or even for a favorite teacher. I have a friend for whom every birthday and Christmas I purchase used cookbooks. She has this one or it would be on its way to her. It wants to be useful. Please check out the reviews at amazon:http://www.amazon.com/Cooking-Ingredients-Barbara-C-Jones/dp/1931294100
