This is the first one in the series that I have read. I enjoyed it and plan to request more.
Lacey Smithsonian is a fashion reporter for a small paper in Washington, DC. One of the hairdressers from the beauty salon where Lacey goes "commits suicide". Lacey's hairdresser does not believe it was suicide and brow beats Lacey into digging into it. After another hairdresser also "kills herself", and Lacey gets threats and then is attacked herself, things really take off. Add a handsome security consultant, with ties to Lacey from the past, and things get interesting.
