Some of my best friends are librarians an I was delighted to see that a book had been written about librarians and cybrarians (what a catchy title). Librarians are at the forefront of teaching the public how to interact with the changing role of using the knowledge available in libraries. Since Marilyn Johnson is not a librarian, it was interesting to watch what she would include what she sees as the changing role of the librarian in today's life.

Johnson shows just how creative and innovative some librarians are and how that is changing document management in profound ways. One thing that I believe this author proves is that the role of the librarian may be emerging, but human librarians will never disappear. They are the ones that manage, categorize, sort, and teach us how to use new ways to access information. As information streams constantly seem to evolve, librarians are there, helping the public interact with a bewildering assortment of books, ebooks, zines, pamphlets, and cyber cites. Thank goodness they are ready.
