She was a medium-size merchant vessel of the 17th century, but her cargo was far from ordinary. In the late summer of 1620, this small wooden ship named the Mayflower embarked upon an historic voyage which, 66 days later, ended at a cold and forbidding harbor in the New World.
Now hobbyists of all ages can step into the past by creating their own authentic full-color model of the reconstructed ship that is visited each year by thousands in Plymouth, Mass. Step-by-step instructions and easy-to-follow diagrams enable beginners as well as veteran papercrafters to assemble a large (17" long), durable model of the Mayflower, including fo'c'sle, main deck, half deck, rudder, masts and sails. In addition, a brief but informative text provides a fascinating background to the ship and its role in history.
