The 1st book will probably always hold the most charm for me but this book really held its own. It makes sense to read them in order as you really get a sense of the characters in the 1st book and this adds to them and gives you a feeling for their life at home in MA. A very sweet, easy read with all the great things the 1st book introduced. Excited to read the next two books about the Penderwicks.
