I just read John Grisham's The Rainmaker and as I have said before, John Grisham has never written a book I did not like. His books are many and varied and this one was somewhat different than most of his others. Yes, there was a lawyer. He was barely out of law school and the things that happened to him were not typical of most emerging law students. A lot that happened to him was laugh out loud funny and some was very poignant. For me it was like watching a grandchild become an adult and I loved it. In a way it reminded me of The Racketeer, especially the ending. But I won't spoil it for other readers. A great read and much lighter reading than most Grisham books.
