A novel, very well written, based upon in-depth research into one of the saddest events in the history of the Snake River canyons: the slaughter of some forty or so Chinese prospectors in the 1880s, the ensuing investigation by one dedicated public servant, the outrageously biased trial by jury, and the aftermath of the story. The authors are both accomplished in the art of writing and have done a commendable job here.
