Nannie Lee Frayser Elementary is located in the Central area of Louisville, KY. The building itself was built in 1932 and is only .4 miles from the main gate of the World Famous Churchill Downs Race Track. According to statistical information available, the zip code of our school is home to 22,444 people. High school graduates are approximated at 41%, while only 5% have obtained a Bachelor's Degree.
Our Title I school has a very diverse population of students. 54% of our students are African Americans, 15% White, 22% Hispanic, 2 or more races 4%. 51% of the students are Male and 49% Female. Our population is comprised of 52% English Language Learners currently representing 18 Native Languages
We have 2 ECE units servicing 12% of our population. Approximately 95% of our students are Free or Reduced Lunch and the school participates in the Community Eligibility Program, Fruits & Vegetables Program, Breakfast in the Classroom, and Blessings in a Backpack.
Frayser participates in a small class size program with a 20:1 student to teacher ratio. We offer small group research based reading and math instruction, interventions and enrichment.
Frayser staff actively participates in Professional Learning Communities. All students participate in S.T.E.A.M., Arts and Humanities, and Library.
We promote wellness and have a full-time nurse. All certified teaching staff are considered Highly Qualified and are culturally competent.
