St. Paul City School is a Charter School (pre-K to grade 8) located in one of the high poverty areas of St. Paul, MN. Over the past decade the percentage of St Paul City School students who are eligible for free and reduced price meals has ranged from 83% to 98%. Over 90% of the students come from immigrant families from an assortment of countries, so essentially the whole school is an English as a Second Language program. The key to student success is learning to use the English language, and there's no better way than by reading an assortment of well produced materials. Sadly the parents cannot provide the books, so the school must.

St. Paul City School strives to prepare students to engage their futures with excitement and preparation.. We define our approach as a rigorous, well-rounded program that teaches students to be strong in reading, writing, math, and social skills. Given the world that our students will live in when they reach adulthood, we recognize that these elements must be firmly rooted into each of our students for their future success. We have adopted several key curricula as well as a common instructional lens to ensure our students develop the crucial skills they need to develop.
