Like almost all of John Grisham's books, this one is written well, and involves many characters of varying degrees of moral compasses with interesting legal issues. An enjoyable read.

Silly and cute, any pre-teen will love this book. Plus it has redeeming themes of kindness and making the effort to understand others.

Interesting, thought-provoking.

An interesting book about a small piece of recent history that most of us have no knowledge about. The stories about the generous, helpful people of Newfoundland makes me want to vacation there.

Beautiful photos and stories that made me laugh and to shed a tear also.

This book covers the time frame from early to mid 1800's in the life of two girls, one privileged white, the other a slave. It is a well researched book which introduces the readers to actual people who lived in Charleston, SC during this time. A well-written book with a satisfactory and believable ending.

I have never read any book in the series The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency that I haven't loved, and this one is no exception. The kind, introspective main characters and the well-considered plots always have a satisfactory ending.

Interesting plot, different from most. The main character, Nora Seed, is quite likeable in spite, or maybe because of, her lack of confidence and her depressive tendencies. I found myself pulling for her happiness.

Highly enjoyable book. I got this book after watching the movie. Now I want to read other Paulette Jiles books. One has been ordered.

Well-researched book about the difficulty of living on low-wage jobs. The author writes well, with a sense of humor and a great deal of compassion for the people she encountered.

Sweet, sweet book for a newborn or young child, with beautiful illustrations. I will be passing this book on to a friend whose baby is due this winter.

Interesting true story from the very early 1900's of a young black woman who passed as white while working for one of the wealthiest men in the United States.

A good read, an interesting and topical plot. Barbara Kingsolver is always a "must read" for me.

It's an interesting book with an interesting plot. I like the relaxed way that Silas House writes. I always seem to like his characters also. Silas is a very pleasant, likable man and his books reflect a good deal of that honesty in the characters he invents.

I love dogs and I love Rick Bragg's writing, so this book seems like a natural choice for me. It's funny, of course, and heartfelt, no surprise there either.

Very interesting theories with the use of statistics to back up the claims.

Interesting book, written in a style that propels you forward to the next chapter.

Lovely story with fully developed characters. Quite funny in places, rather serious in others, I can understand why it has been such a popular story book for over 100 years.
