Wasn't one of her better books in my opinion. Dragged on way too long.

I waited forever to get this book due to the wonderful ratings, so I finally broke down and ordered it from Amazon. I read alot of memoirs on Italy and enjoy reading of the culture, people and places; traveled to Italy twice so love envisioning the sights. This book was very disappointing, it was more of the writer's take on God and politics for farming. Yes he did work on seven farms but I wanted more on the sights, the people, the culinary. Also on the FB page, there are all these wonderful pictures, however these places were never mentioned in the book ie: Amalfi Coast.

All I can say about this book is once again Jodi Piccoult does not disappoint and I was totally blown away by the ending, not what I expected at all, couldn't put it down.

Lilac Girls was recommended to me at the library,I wasn't sure what to expect as this was the author's first book. I could not put it down Finished it in 2 days. Highly recommend this to anyone that reads about World War II and the Nazi regime.

I love Dennis Lehane's books, but I must say this one was a huge disappointment. The first half of the book describes the main character Rachael who is barely tolerable. when the so called suspense finally shows up it was a weak story at best.

Very slow, I kept waiting for the big "event" of the barbeque, it was a huge let down. I had to force myself to finish this one. I felt it was lacking a meaty story line that I could sink my teeth in to. This one wasn't it.
