If I had looked at this book, I would not have ordered it. I don't buy a lot of convenience foods & that is what these recipes use.

This is an excellent help for anyone wanting to start a quiet time or to revitalize their quiet time. Jan encourages us to practice God's presence, just like Brother Lawrence did, in the midst of the busyness of life, focus on God, enjoy His presence, remember that He is with us. I highly recommend this book!

Several authors write about how Jonathan Edwards influenced Christian thought & why we should read his works for ourselves. I haven't read any of his writing, but am thinking about adding a book to my to-read pile. I thought the book was interesting & well-written.

This book is just delightful. The recipes are good, and I like the letters even better. It is like reading letters from Grandma.

I enjoyed Sophie's stories. Some were hilarious & some (the one about her Grandma) were very emotional. Well worth reading.

I enjoyed reading through the descriptions of kitchen equipment. Interesting, read about some things I hadn't heard of before. Some of the recommendations may not apply since the book is 10 years old.
