I'm actually never sure that any sequel to a much beloved book is ever as good as the original. It reminds me of the movie never lives up to the book line of thinking. However, I have to give the author some credit here because at least she didn't make it too much the same. There was enough introduction of new characters to keep it interesting. I am looking forward to reading the other 2 books to see if the new characters become fully developed or if they are still window dressings for book 1.

All in all, a very readable book. Not a stress on the mind to read and completed easily.

I found this book to be a very slow read especially in the beginning. It is a very long book at 642 pages. It seems very well researched and gives very interesting facts about the time of 1400-1500's. The first 300 pages build the foundation for the final 300. It could have been condensed a bit for my taste.

A page turning read that keeps you interested from the begining. Utilizes Freud and Jung as interesting characters and the time period is one that is unusual. An interesting book. Would read others by this author.

A lovely book both as it is written and visually. The story is of a young boy finding himself through contact with his uncle. The journey is both sweet sad and memorable. I am really glad that I indulged myself to "read" this book.

Pride and Prescience: Or, A Truth Universally Acknowledged (Mr. and Mrs. Darcy, Bk 1)

This book is certainly one that keeps you guessing about who is the bad guy. Also interesting that the victim doesn't die until late in the novel. A bit of an interesting spin from most whodoneit's. Plot is well developed with good character development by the author. Keeps briskly moving along. An easy read.

This book had very little to do with Venus and much more to do with the politics and intrigue of the Roman time. Good family information and interesting characters are developed with a strong "who done it" thread that kept you guessing.

A cozy mystery that takes a bit longer to read then most.
