I read mostly true crime. I almost couldn't finish the first few chapters. The book is about the torture of a 12 year old girl. "Cruel Sacrifice" is graphic in the description of the crime. It focuses on the 4 girls who murdered Shanda Sharer.

I have worked in this type of environment and the stories in this book are very real. Not for the weak.

It was hard to put this book down. It's easy to identify with at least one of the characters. I have this book in the "keepers" section at home. My daughter also enjoyed the book.

If you know someone who has a drug additction or have been through the process yourself, it will be hard to read. This is one of the most honest, accurate accounts of of what drug addiction is. Someone in recovery should be careful reading this book as it might bring up some issues. Thank you Nic for sharing such a painful part of your life.
