This book started out okay, but went on and on and on. About three-quarters of the way through I began to get really bored and started skimming (not before I noticed several typos, though) and I never even finished it. What I want to know is who the heck is watching Madriani's teenage daughter while he's almost getting killed by drug dealers and running off to foreign countries?!

I didn't finish this book. I found the characters shallow and boring and I didn't feel like investing the time to finish it when I have several other books waiting to be read!

This book doesn't cover all of the National Parks, like I was hoping it would. It only discusses the "big" parks, like Yellowstone, etc., etc. I was hoping for something on the lesser known parks, but no such luck!

Good legal thriller. A bit longish in some areas, but it still kept my attention. I loved that it was set in Lake Tahoe, since I grew up in El Dorado County and know all about that setting (it was almost weird reading about Apple Hill!), but it might be distracting to someone not familiar with the area. I'm happy to have found a new series to enjoy!

A good historical mystery novel about a Victorian-era woman in London investigating her husband's death. Starts off light with witty dialogue. I very much enjoyed the heroine. Book was LONG (over 500 pages)...perhaps 100 pages too long. Ends rather darkly. I believe there is supposed to be a sequel, which I would definitely read.

This is one of the best books I've read in a LONG time. Hosseini writes about the friendship of two women amazingly well (especially for a man!) and the characters are very memorable. This story made me so greatful I was born a women in America!!

I found this book at the library...it was classified as a romance but it is not your stereotypical bodice-ripping romance. It is much tamer, and could maybe even be classifed as young adult, which is more my speed. :) Set in the post-Civil War South, portions were slow, but it was a generally sweet story with a happy, if a little unexpected, ending. Not an excellent book by any means, but not bad either.

Did not care for the writing style of this author...barely made it through five pages before I put it down.
