This book is a lot like the film. The main difference is you get more background on the kids and more insight into the trial. The callousness of these kids is shocking. A must read.

This book as a pretty interesting fast paced story. Personally I felt the ending was a bit of a let down, but overall it was a fun read.

I have never enjoyed a book so much and yet disliked the characters so thoroughly. I found myself staying up much too late to read "just one more chapter."

An excellent book only loosely based on the movie.

A great book that gives a much more in depth look than the film. The dialogue can be difficult to read as it's written phonetically in the thick scottish accent but once you get used to it, it goes much faster. This edition also has a handy glossary at the end to help you out.

A survey of cloistered life in venice from the 16-18th centuries. It's an interesting look at the cultural setting and daily life of nuns at the time, many of whom were they out of duty to their families and not personal vocation.

I love this author. She is probably the essence of southern gothic. This is a great collection of her short stories. A good primer for anyone unfamiliar with her work.
