I loved this book and read it in 24 hours. The movie is by no means an accurate depiction of the book or Gilbert's reported experiences. It's uplifting and a great read.

I adore well written memoirs and this, unfortunately, was not one of them. The writing is dry at best with Sonnenberg writing in a slice of life format when discussing her memories causing the reader to have no attachment to anyone or anything in the book. I assume, as the reader, we are supposed to sit back aghast and feel for her story, but all I could do was put the book down. A bit too bland and dry for me.

The book was awful. It was a story without the story. Larry David basically runs into the writer a few times while the writer is attempting to get his life together. A life, btw, that solicits no interest from the reader. Save your book credits and pass up.

I enjoyed this book as it was easy and dished out about the Material Girl. It was sad as well considering the two no longer speak and spent much of their adult lives together. Recommended for fun, gossipy read.

This book was wonderfully written and simultaneously scary. If you like the "going behind the scenes" into Hollywood life then this is your book. Easy, easy read and sad story about Tatum's life with her father, loss of children through custody, etc. I would recommend it for an easy, nosy read on a Sunday afternoon.

Great book-would recommend. Only criticism is glided over the effects on his personal life (i.e. effects on relationship) somewhat. Easy read for one sitting.

I love a book of its reported kind, but it lacked, well, a story. It was interesting to read about her struggles, but much seemed inauthentic as well as just boring. Just a bit too "cutesy" for me. Would not recommend.
