I agree with the rest of the literary world that this book is poorly written. The inner dialogue of the female character is incredibly annoying and downright silly sometimes. And the sex scenes are not nearly as wild and crazy as I anticipated. That being said, the story is interesting enough to keep you turning the pages. Don't worry about "wasting your time" reading this book. It really won't take you that long to get through it. And if you are like me and like some thing light and easy to read between epic novels, this one will fit the bill. If you put your inner book critic aside and go with it, it's a fun read.

I love Theresa Caputo and proud to admit I'm a believer. I've read both of her books and always feel calmer and happier after I do. Her books are "ghost written" and sometimes border on cartoonistic with her persona but the messages are soothing and I think she does a great job of answering specific questions that we all have about what happens when we die. And what I really love is that it transcends specific religions and really does have something for everyone. I will say if you read this one, you don't have to read the second one. It's a lot of the same information, just with different real life examples.

This was a light and easy read but I was a little disappointed. At times it felt a little self-serving, like it was written just as an excuse for her to reminisce about the good old days of improv and drop names of people you may or may not have heard of. But definitely worth a credit from PBS if you like Amy Poehler.
