Later Perry Mason with Hamilton Burger given a chance to look good. Still Perry wins, but only with a very last second plan. This one is in the bottom half of Perry Mason books.

Such a wonderful and compelling read. Theologically, it speaks to a strong Christian faith in some of the main characters, and who knows if any of the author's speculations through his main character on the "in-between" afterlife are correct? I loved the way the main character was developed through a first person glimpse at the beginning of his present selfish and paranoid life and a much larger view of his formative life experiences through his thoughts and words during his coma after a serious health crisis. It's very inventive the way he is able to communicate through others even while he is in a deep coma. The premise of healing, emotionally and physically, is developed quite well. And throughout, I'm not quite sure how it will end. This is a rarity for me, so I enjoyed reading it very much.

One of the best Nero, Archie and Rex books.
