A simple story of a grade-school events' day in post-war Japan and the children meeting their first American soldiers is not only beautifully illustrated but allows us to see through the eyes of a child. "I have learned to me more curious than afraid." -Ishi, the last Native American left of his northern California tribe.

This thinly-veiled autobiography that is technically a novel picks up where "Sex and Death to the Age 14" left off. Spalding Gray delves deep into his demons in this novel and while he is able to laugh most of them off the book leaves the reader with a greater understanding of the author.
