My mother recommended this book to me in my early teen years, and now I've passed it along to my children, as well. A quintessential coming-of-age book that shows that 16 can still be an age of innocence and striving to find your own niche in the world. Timeless.

Not only is this a good book to read, but it is a beautiful book that you will want to give to a friend.

I was disappointed to find that this was an abridged version, so I could not use it for my class.
