This book is a very valuable tool for stroke survivors and their family and caregivers. It takes you through each stage of a stroke in detail, to help explain what to expect from a survivor's point of view as well as the view from the family and caretakers side. Excellently written and easy to understand.

This book really has the answers on how to fix that aching back! I wish I would have found this book sooner - If you are suffering from back pain - you'll be glad you have this book!!

Wow - it was tense reading this book! The story is told through the eyes of a 5 yr old, and that makes it a bit challenging to read at certain spots throughout the book. Overall, the book was fairly easy to read and I was able to finish it in 2 days.

This book really gave me a true picture of what a stroke survivor goes through. Additionally, it give the caregiver's (spouse or otherwise) view point as well. It made me cry, made me laugh, made my heart beat fast, and gave me ah-ha moments throughout the entire book. I read the entire book in 4 hours - It was nearly impossible to put down. After reading this book, I have a newfound respect for all stroke survivors and the people who care for and assist them!

This was an odd book - for me, it was a difficult read from the beginning. I struggled with it day after day. Which is odd for me because I can read just about anything and I read fast. I typically have several books laying around that I'm reading at the same time and never confuse them. However, I was so confused by this book that it was almost unreadable. THEN>> I decided to do something that I never do - read the last chapter first. I am so glad I did, because now I've read the entire book - backwards! And it is fantastic!! I know, that sounds crazy - I thought so too. But, don't judge until you've tried it! This book is great - but must be read from the last chapter to the first.

What a great book! It started out a bit slow and a was a little confusing at first - but once I got past the first few chapters, I couldn't put the book down and finished it in 1 morning. I love that the ending was so unexpected and really brought a sense of seeing people with your heart instead of your eyes.

Very interesting story. It sucks you in and won't let you go - finally shocking you at the very end. Wow - so many twists and turns. There are a few moments in the book that get a tiny bit boring when you are in the courtroom - "listening" to all the testimonies. But, that section is short lived. Overall, the book was an easy read and only took me 2 days to read it.

What an amazing story of survival! This woman has been through so much in her life and still sees the good in people and continues to have a positive attitude about life. She inspires me. The book was a very easy read and I finished it in just a couple of hours.

I read this book in one setting, and wasn't willing to put it down until I was finished. For the record, I have been thin half of my life and overweight half of my life - it doesn't matter which one I am today - but I can tell you from experience, people treat you different depending on what size you are. This fact is shameful!
For anyone who is familiar with Whitney Thore's television show, this book is a deeper insight into her life - before the show. She describes having to deal with body shame since pre-school age - even though she wasn't a "fat child". It broke my heart to hear the way other human beings treated her simply because they saw her different than themselves. No one should ever be made to feel "less than", as we are all - every single one of us, we are all "more than enough"!
Whitney is beautiful - inside and out, and I wish her all the best in life! (And, her family and friends are pretty amazing too!)

This book tells an incredible story of survival. I read it in 2 days, as I couldn't put it down until I knew Elizabeth Fritzl and her children were finally safe.

This was such a good book. This poor guy spent almost 30 yrs on death row for crimes he did not commit! He describes his entire experience so clearly that it left me shaken with the thought that "there but for the grace of God, goes I". What amazes me so much is how he never waivers from his true self - continuing to be loving, kind, and empathetic towards others. He remains true to himself in the worst of circumstances and is able to maintain his beautiful spirit. Our justice system is so unjust... These types of stories reinforces my belief that the death penalty should not be an option - ever! God Bless Mr Hinton - I pray that the remainder of his days are as beautiful as he is. This book grabbed hold and wouldn't let go - I read it in 2 days.
