A pretty good book. I Do Not think this book or the trilogy would make a good movie(s). It is quite slow at times with unneeded Starwars political rant. Very few battles and fewer lightsaber uses which seem primary to the fun of Starwars. However, book 3 is the best book in the series in my opinion and picks up the pace. Mara Jade is a cool character.

I like Douglas Niles, his Moonshae trilogy (Forgotten Realms) was enjoyable, but this book is very silly (not in a good way either); the ending is even sillier. I really struggled to finish it. To be fair, this book was written early in the author's career, and it shows, so I will move past the many hours wasted on reading this book and try some other D. Niles books.
