A trite and derivative formula novel. Of COURSE the pretty and spunky heroine will rise from her tragedy and find a handson-yet-difficult prince charming. Mind candy of the cheapest kind.

Dave Barry at his best!

The leaflet shows you how to upcycle ordinary (or heirloom!) linens into detachable collars. Everything old can be new again.

This book addresses the abusive supervisor and the rights that employees have. Management prerogatives have changed over the last generation and many a supervisor "hasn't gotten the memo." I found it to be a real eye-opener.

If all you want is a pictures and an opportunity to order plans from a company that may no longer be in business, this is your book.

This was one of the first books written on this topic. Realistic and data-backed. Still timely in 2009 even though dual-earner households have become the norm over the last 25 years.

When you read this, you will understand how "Julie and Julia" came to be so comfortably.

This may or may not be useful for the hapless groom, but it was hilarious and informative reading for the mother-of-the bride! Plenty of watch-outs and cutting edge issues that a MOB might not think of from her own wedding back in the day. Boil it down and feed it to the groom-to-be with a spoonful of sugar; he is UNLIKELY TO READ THIS ON HIS OWN!

I have been disappointed in this series. It is a youth book, but it assumes that the reader is acquainted with religious orders and their ways, which is likely not the case if they are not a church-educated Catholic. It spends too much time touting that part of the story and not enough on character building. The people in these books are symbols of societal position.

This is one of those books that you read and then wish you could get it out of your head. What a colossal waste of time! The geisha tradition is historic and this makes it sound fairly contrived and sleazy.

This was required reading by an employer that was "going through the motions." The culture was one of "Monday Morning Quarterbacking," and someone thought that throwing a few paperbacks around without requiring accountability was going to change things for the better.
You aren't going to find any startling revelations in this tomette unless you are very green indeed.

If you enjoy a good, hearty belly-laugh about the human condition, you need to read this book. Anita Renfroe is a rare combination of comedienne and Bible scholar. You may ask yourself "How is THAT going to work???" I tell you, it works extremely well. God would laugh and approve!
