I found it absolutely fascinating! Lots of anecdotes and similarities drawn between different characters in history. I mainly got this to work on my genealogy but found to my delight that for the first time I really understood the motivations for the actions of those long-dead kings and queens, saints and sinners. He also carefully lists what different medieval chroniclers say about each character, and I could get a better sense of their personalities. A few of the anecdotes were gruesome, but others were delightfully amusing. If you like history, royal or otherwise, this is the book for you!

I loved this audio story- the gorgeous descriptions of the turtles and dolphins playing; the interaction between the author/swimmer and the baby whale was tender and touching. I could almost have been there, looking at the beautiful sunrise with them. I was rooting for the baby and Lynne to find the missing mama whale. I was in awe of Lynne's strength and endurance. Of course, I grew up watching Sea Hunt on the old television show, and wanted to be an oceanographer after high school- until I watched the movie Jaws!! I was scared several times that what Lynne was sensing in the ocean depths was a mankiller shark...beautiful and engrossing- I did not want to get out of the car and walk into work. Kept going out at lunchtime from work to see what happened next.
