My 18 yr. old daughter has a fascination for ancient Rome and read this when she was about 14, and is now reading it again. She says it's a fantastic book and very enjoyable reading.

This is by far the best, most authentic, easy to read book on the Catholic Catechism. I used it/read it during a course I took. I've read others also, but this is the best! It's usually used more as a reference book, and every Catholic household ought to own one.

This is a wonderful book in showing why the Catholic Church is the Church founded by Jesus Christ, and the reasons people have found in their search for the truth to be Catholic. However I have read others that are easier and more enjoyable to read, ie. Surprised By the Truth.

This book is a MUST for anyone with questions about the Catholic faith and why Catholics do the things they do. I was taught much of this in Catholic grade school but had forgotten/wasn't paying attention/didn't care. I found this book fascinating, very easy and entertaining to read, and hard to put down. Friends I've lent it to agree. One friend even went to Confession for the first time in 15 yrs. after reading this, and another has become much more involved in the Church. I own 3 copies now - one is mine, and 2 I lend out! I've been reading a LOT of books on Catholicism over the past 6 years, and this one does the best job in explaining all things Catholic very simply.

This is a wonderful book of creative cookies to make with kids, many using convenient refrigerator doughs.

I know quite a few folks who read this book every Lent. Amazing detail about how the Passion of Christ may have likely occurred, based on historical facts known about the life and times back then with respect to how the Romans/Jews scouraged/crucified people. Very interesting book and easy reading.

Like a lot of people, I read this almost every Lent. The attention to detail is amazing and so interesting, and it makes the Passion of Christ just come alive. Even if a lot of detail cannot be substantiated, a good arguement is made as to why it probably is fact. And it gives a wonderful history lesson on what was going on in that area of the world when Christ walked the Earth.

Anything written by Fr. Scanlan is top notch, as is this book. Charismatics and those already in a healing ministry will probably understand it and accept it moreso than most. This book is very interesting and held my interest the entire time. I loved it!

This is a sweet book by 2 authors who fill it in with some of their own life experiences, about their journey in falling in love with Jesus. It is an easy and enjoyable read.

This book was a bit disturbing to think that it's nonfiction and some people really live like that. My 18 yr old daughter just loved it. I found it a bit tedious to read. Not a whole lot of action going on. It mainly consists of stories/events of one person's (hard) life.

Gotta love it when non-Catholics spout forth their opinions of the Church as if they are facts, judge the Catholic Church for its beliefs as they see them, and condemn the Church for not going along with their views on how things should be. This author obviously has a personal agenda...a very liberal and biased one against the Church, that she is trying to advance it under the guise of writing about nuns. As an author, who should be concerned about the truth and facts, Piazza is incredibly misinformed about the Church's doctrines and she selfishly uses these nuns to voice her own views on various social and political subjects. The nuns profiled here do indeed have impressive track records, however Piazza only proves why the Vatican is justified in reviewing the nuns in the U.S. - nuns who are pro-abortion have NO place in the Catholic Church. And nuns who fight for women to be priest clearly do no understand the doctrines of the Church.

Like all of Fr. Scanlan's books, this one is very well written and easy to understand. He is speaking from experience and knows what he is talking about. A must for anyone involved in the healing ministy.

Remarkable book about a remarkable woman, and how she surrendered completely, allowing the Holy Spirit to work powerfully through her to cure/heal people. Really increases ones faith in this power, which is as alive today as it was when the Holy Spirit was given to his apostles.

The Radio Replies series has a question/answer format and is very easy and entertaining to read. It is packed with really interesting and amazing information about the Catholic faith. It is fun to jump through different parts when you have a few moments to spare, and learn neat facts about Catholicism.

This is a fantastic book about the step by step process that Scott Hahn (formerly very anti-Catholic) took while trying to discover which religion held what he was seeking - the Truth. And to his horror and surprise, he found the Truth in the Catholic Church. He gives very compelling arguments and lays out the results of his research into the Bible and writings of the early Church fathers (prior to the Protestant Reformation.)

Although this "feel good" book contains a lot of truth about God as taught in the Bible, it also contains some error. It would have you believe that God is interested in love almost to the exclusion of morality, and that morality is man-made stuff. One cannot come to this conclusion if one reads the Bible. Perhaps the author is a product of the New Age thinking where there is no absolute right and wrong - it's all subjective.

Fantastic book about the (non-denominational) Charismatic Renewal which apply to any religious denomination, although author does point out some things specific to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. This is easy reading, and it stresses how important it is to have the Holy Spirit back in our lives and in our communities, just as it was after the first Pentecost in the Bible.
