I remember watching this world series with my dad as a young kid. It is the first baseball memory that I can really remember. I never realized the truth about the team until after reading this book. It was eye opening to read about this team... Everyone knows ball players live interesting lives. I loved how the book used mainly first account stories to paint the real picture of the 1986 New York Mets.

As a Spanish teacher and a lover of VC Andrews' Flowers in the Attic series, I automatically felt compelled to get this. The author keeps VC Andrews' style alive while combining it with current society. Teaching high school, I have encountered Sophias and Edwards. I also live in an area where we have illegal Mexicans in the school system. At times, I could not put the book down. This is the first time in years that I have actually read a VC Andrews book, knowing they are written by someone else, but it was well worth it. Now, I have to backtrack to read the other series I missed.

This book gives a lot of basic information on how to navigate ebay and become successful. It includes everything from how to use the site to how to find items to buy and sell. It is very helpful for beginner ebayers.

An interesting male rendition of mid-life and what most people really think about. There are many funny aspects from Allen, but it is more philosophical. I enjoyed it quite a bit....makes you think and laugh at the same time.

Loved it! It gives specifics on how the imagineers came up with the concepts of each attraction and how they created them....there is much more than meets the eye happening at EPCOT. Any Disney fan would love, but also someone interested in architecture and art design as well.

A very easy read....Interesting to see the other side of all the stories reported throughout the years. Women who are in similar relationships can truly relate to how Jessica kept going back for more, finally relizing she had to move on for her own good and the good of her daughter.

This book was a very easy ready and interesting. I was pleasantly surprised at how honest Valerie was with her audience about her weight struggle. While the book really looks at how she had struggled with her weight throughout her life, her epiphany was when she started on Jenny. It gives insight to, no matter who the person is, anyone can struggle with weight and depression.

Starting from the beginning, this gave a very descriptive look into Lucille Ball's life. It discusses her rise to stardom and how she was a regular in movies, but did not become a household name until the I Love Lucy show debuted. Her life with Desi was spoke of - their romance, their torrid fights, how she dealt with her husband's infidelities, drinking and gambling. In the end, there was no denying that they loved each other til the end. While it examined the ups and downs of her life, it was done in a tasteful manner, which any Lucy fan would appreciate! I learned a lot and enjoyed a concise, easy read about the world's favorite red head.

With a father who grew up loving the Brooklyn Dodgers, this book gave me incredible insight as to why he held them so near and dear to his heart. The stories that Steve Garvey has about 9 hall of fame baseball players make them all the more personal to the average fan. Of course, we know they were the greatest players in the major leagues, but when you read about what they went through to get to where they ended and how they each struggled in their own ways...if makes you realize that they really were just men with great talent and an undying devotion to the game of baseball. The fact that each one of them took a young child under their wing and showed him the love they had for the game is what made Steve Garvey the ballplayer he will be remembered as.

This book gives a brief introduction to each of the thirty+ writers. I expected it to be more of a horror/crime story, but it wasn't disappointing..... Each of the stories are more of a crime or military thriller. Some of the authors tied in current events like the war in Iraq, making you think about the stories being factual. It was an excellent book. I think anyone into thrillers will love this.....
