From Back Cover: "Give your child a head start with baby sign language. Based on simple signs and gestures that are easy for your baby to understand and use, baby sign language gives you and your child the tools you need to start communicating before speech develops. Reduce frustration, boost confidence, and strengthen your bond with your baby. This easy and flexible system for learning makes signing with your baby a fun and rewarding experience."

From Inside Flap: "Baby Sign Language is an easy-to-follow guide with 120 fully illustrated signs to start you on your signing journey. Find out the best age to start signing, how long it will be before your baby starts to respond, and how to fit signing into your daily routine. Recent research suggests that signing may boost your baby's IQ. Other benefits include:
* less frustration for you and your child
* better communication from an early age
* increased confidence for your child
* a strong bond between you and your child
* your child will develop a bigger vocabulary quicker"

My notes: Fabulous background and introduction. Organized by subjects so you can learn a few words/signs that may be clumped together (food, clothes, outside, etc.). Photographs and wonderful! Colorful and easy to figure out how to make the signs. This particular book does not exactly follow ASL (American Sign Language) but a modified system, explained in the introduction.
