I'm not a huge fan of Austen but I enjoy her books and this was a fun, deep dive. I especially liked the summaries and descriptions of fans' perspectives on Austen's books or the movies made on her books. The author captures the feelings of fandom and fanaticism with wit and compassion. She explores the many ways people are inspired to express their interest and obsession. Fan clubs, internet discussions, fan fiction. I laughed at times and recognized myself and friends in this. I am a fan of a certain actor and have made friendships with other fans from my time spent on discussion boards. So not only did I enjoy the Austen aspect but appreciated some self reflection on the nature of being a fan. A bonus.

I laughed out loud often. A glimpse into Tina Fey's background. Behind the scenes, funny examples about some of the work she's done that we know well. Worth reading!
