100 Maverick Postcards : Pictures, Images Thoughts for Each Conceivable Occasion
Review Date: 9/22/2010

I love this collection of postcards. There are a few (literally about 3) that I will probably never use, but the others are extremely usable and clever. There are some that I think I will have to keep for myself; I like them so much. If you enjoy sending postcards, but want postcards with a different perspective, these are for you!

I love the Pixar "The Art of" books. They have so many drawings about how the movie was made. The book is wonderful to look at to get an idea of how the story and characters were formed. I would definitely recommend any of these books!

The postcards in this set are amazing! There are so many high quality pictures that I almost don't want to use them. Actually, I will probably end up keeping some of these to add to my personal collection. If you are a fan of Pixar movies, you will love these!

There are so many great projects in this book. I really enjoyed seeing all of the great ideas. I also love the authors' ideas out to the side of the project about making the project your own. It is just another way to get your creative juices flowing. There are so many different techniques used in this book. The authors use paint, gel medium transfers, book making techniques, metal, fabric, clay, alcohol inks, and so many other techniques and materials. I love the full color pages, which is a must for an art book in my opinion, and I love looking through it to get ideas. There are ideas for scrapbooks, as well as for home decor and gifts. I would definitely recommend this one!

I loved this book. It completely sucked me in, and I read it in one sitting. It was amazing that it was about Bragg's own grandfather. I can't imagine all of the research it must have taken to write, but it reads so easily. I would definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed this book! I couldn't wait to see what would happen, and how Kick would handle things. Kick is an intriguing character and I enjoy the way Kellogg writes about her. Fun and clever!

I thought this book was okay. It was a fast read, but all the way through I had trouble with character development. I thought both of the main characters were hard to like and didn't really change at all. Unfortunately, my favorite character was the hero's brother that I would have much rather seen end up with the heroine. Tess doesn't stand up for herself and is really naive even though she claims she knows more than people think she does. She is a strong woman and I think that is her only redeeming quality. Cag is, at heart, a good man, yet all of his actions show that he's not. I find it hard to believe that he loves this woman, and yet he can't get over himself to treat her well. I was very disappointed.

I really liked this book until the end. The characters and story development were good, but the end was just too sappy for me.

The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America
Review Date: 9/22/2010

Wow! When my friend recommended this book to me, the story of the serial killer is not what I expected at all. It was such an interesting true story! I love history, so being able to learn about the World's Fair and its impact on the United States was very interesting. I am not really into suspense or murder mysteries, but this book completely drew me in. I liked that there weren't too many horrific details, but at the same time, the author left some areas up to the reader to decide what happened. It was still creepy enough to get into the mind of the killer. I would definitely recommend this!

I enjoyed this book, but it didn't have the appeal of the first three in the series. I would recommend it to see what Kick is up to now, but if it were the first book in the series I probably wouldn't have followed up with the rest of them.

Love this postcard book! I was so excited to see it listed, but I wasn't sure what to expect. The postcards are colorful and so cute. Although there are quite a few about being at camp, I can still use a lot of them for every day correspondence. Not to mention the camp postcards are cute enough that I would use them anyway. :) This was a great find, and I'm excited to use them!

This was a very good book, although I was a bit disappointed in the action of the ending. I suppose dramatic life events change people though so it was certainly relatable. I enjoyed the characters and the movement of the story. I would recommend.

These are the cutest postcards! I love sending them to loved ones just to let them know I am thinking of them. They are also great to leave as notes around the house for your spouse to find. They are really thick and durable. The box is also very cute.

The books of the Pink Carnation series are fun, light reads. This one might be my favorite of the series. (I will have to see what Lauren Willig comes up with next.) I enjoy the historical aspect of all of these novels, and I love that Willig tells at the end of her books where she came up with the ideas from history and what parts of her stories are real. I also like that she gives references if you would like to find out more about the time period. Willig has done a great job following up the first book in the series. If you like the Pink Carnation, you will like this.

I am a big fan of the Life's Little Instruction Book series, so I was excited to see that postcards were available from the books. The postcards are colorful, and great reminders of things that are important in life. I will definitely send these to family and friends to let them know I am thinking of them. I am very impressed by this postcard book.

I thought this was a great follow-up to the first book. Kellogg stays true to her characters, and I love her descriptions of everything. The idea of Kick being a jewel thief and her reasons for stealing are intriguing. I didn't think I would like a character like her, but she is sassy and fun to read about.
