I'm half-way through this book, but it really resonates. It is very well-written and informative.
I applaud the author's openness: it's a very effective vehicle to touch the core of the problem in the reader.

Neither of two friends thought this was a very good intro to Wharton, but I enjoyed the book very much. Such an insightful look at NY society of the period. On to e. Fromme!

I enjoyed the book very much! I was a nun for 21 years, and thought I left without any lingering issues....now I'm not so sure...very thought provoking. Now I'm reading History of God by KA --she's GOOD!

I'm reading this in anticipation of my trip to China this Spring. It's very good in giving you an idea of the traditional, Communist, and modern eras in China, but my it is hard to get through!
