Buried Prey (Lucas Davenport, Bk 21) (Audio CD) (Unabridged)
Review Date: 10/30/2013

Just another real good Lucas Davenport, with a big chunk of flashback to his first case and entry into homicide detective status.

Really a decent read and variation on a general gee-whiz theme. Satisfying in the end.

Charlie Chan: The Untold Story of the Honorable Detective and His Rendezvous with American History
Review Date: 1/31/2015

Good read, and interesting history. Much more to it than liking or despairing of the movies. Makes me want to read the books, too.

Deadline (Virgil Flowers, Bk 8) (Audio CD) (Unabridged)

Sandford does not miss with Virgil Flowers. All of them good.

It's probably a good picture of the semi-mythical times.

A lot of stuff happens, and the protagonist describes his emotions and aspirations; but he never becomes an empathetic or interesting person.
Read "The Egyptian" instead.

Hunter's Moon, (Kate Shugak, Bk 9) (Audio CD) (Unabridged)

This series is reliable good reading. Not as compelling as some series. I like them.

Readable if you like Clarke, which I do; but he was running out of steam by then. Unexceptional.

The Professional (Spenser, Bk 38) (Audio CD) (Unabridged)
Review Date: 7/25/2012

Kind of a Spenser potboiler. Which means it is well done and entertaining. No new territory.
