this was a really good book because ultimately it pointed to scripture. it was very fast reading too. i am a slow reader and read it over the course of a few days but if i'd had more time on any of those days i could have read it in one. i believe hell is a real place. whether bill wiese actually went there and came back i don't know but God can do anything He wants so obviously it could have happened. but the bottom line for me is that the author always points back to scripture and that is where the real truth is.

although Jesus was certainly a success, He was not a success in the way we think of success today. this book points out a lot of the ways Jesus was a success but i feel like it kind of tries to put His success in a light that is comparable with a self-help book. that kind of thinking misses the point of Jesus. Jesus never said he knew the way, He said I AM the way.

This biography tells the juicy details of the talented artist, James Taylor. It tracks his history as a musician, as a person, and as a celebrity. From his early days as a struggling songwriter/drug user/womanizer to his later years of broken marriages, into the present, a time when we see Mr. Taylor waking up to achieve something closer to his real potential as a human being.

this book is about changing from a person who is first half driven to second half driven. first half driven lives are those that are very focused on career and "success", second half lives are those lives which are refocused to become significant after a time of reflection at "halftime". the book is a good read and i can see how it would be particularly a GREAT read for someone who is in a midlife crisis who is sort of looking up and going.....is this as good as it gets????......

really good book that has one page motivational blurbs by topic. for example p.1: courage, p.2: kindness each page has a story that goes with the topic but it can be read in that 1 minute only we have as teachers.

if you are british maybe you'll get more out of this than i did. the imitation of christ is one of my favorite books. the reading in the original version i have is a little slow and go but this version made it an even slower go. i may write my own version of it for modern american eyes.
