This book reminds me of Eat, pray love. It is very interesting learning about the customs of different countries. It was a little difficult keeping track of the 5 friends.

Wow the detail and vivid descriptions of the storm and the people and experiences. It just chills you to the core to realize how little they knew about the weather back in 1900, but they thought they understood it. This is a wonderfully written book about the hurricane that hit Galveston in 1900.

Really interesting look into the life of people growing up in Afghanistan. It looks into how one thing you do as a child can affect your whole life. Use the internet to look up words for a better understanding.

I agree with one review that it is hard to get involved in to begin with, but once you do... I really enjoy learning about different cultures, traditions and habits. I think this was a book that my daughter had to read for school, but I decided to read it. I am glad that I made that decision.

Disturbing book on many levels. They want you to think that this is a normal thing that happens, but to say it is ok is not right.

Not her best book. It was a little slow because most of the book's timeline is in a couple of days. The end is good, as usual.
