Norma Klein had such a knack for detailing the curiosities and struggles of young adults when it came to sex and love. A little bit edgier than Judy Blume. A good book for 14+ year olds.

A well written tale of true crime that takes the reader from the events leading up to murder and the outcome of the trial. This book was obviously painstakingly researched, not one of those rushed to the publisher before the trial even began. A must read for those interested in what drives teenagers to kill.

The author presents a straightforward account of the crimes of Stano. The most interesting aspect of this story is what happened after Stano was convicted. The author explains the appeals process and the steps taken by Stano's public defender to prevent his execution. Interesting case.

Well researched and well written. Careful attention is given to the information of families of the victims. While reading this book I was shocked to learn the connections this murderer/pedophile may have to other unsolved cases in Northern California. This is one of those rare true crime books that you would read again.

What a great read! Finally the true story of what went on behind the scenes of the search for the elusive Green River Killer. As Reichert was the detective on the case from the beginning, all the facts are presented as to how he persevered in his investigation despite his fellow colleagues who doubted his belief that Ridgway was the killer.

As the back of the book says, "more harrowing and brutal than The Burning Bed." So true. The author presents every detail of the physical abuse this poor women endured at the hands of her sadistic husband. The author presents the facts without sensationalizing the story of how this women took the life of her abuser. Great read.

Amazing book! Highly recommend. A well-researched and written account of the Amber DuBois and Chelsea King cases without the gruesome details of the actual murders. The author provides insight into the crimes from her interviews with the condemned killer.

This book was a huge help! A friend had tried to teach me how to play but after reading this book it all made much more sense. All the pages are in color and show sample cards and what the numbers mean in regard to power, etc. Great book for kids and adults!

Interesting story of a serial killer and his law enforcement mother who helped cover his crimes. A lot of twists to this story. The Lifetime movie, The Bad Son (2007), was loosely based on this story. The original case is much more fascinating.

A lot of research went into this book! The author explores several cases in which judicial errors occurred resulting in the conviction of innocent people. This is an astounding statement about the judicial system of Kern County, California.

Quite a remarkable story. The author painstakingly recounts the numerous stories of all the young adults involved in the kidnapping and murder of Nicholas Markowitz. This is a story that was rather confusing as portrayed in the movie Alpha Dog, but not here. The author devotes a good portion of the book to the numerous murder trials.

This is an amazing book! B. D. Hyman took a lot of flak for exposing the crazy behavior of her mother, Bette Davis, but it served a purpose: a medium to make her mother take notice of how she hurt the family. This book is similar to Mommie Dearest, except for the fact that Bette Davis did not inflict physical abuse upon her children. Well-written book, interesting look back at Hollywood stardom.

A look back at the satanic/heavy metal fears of the 1980s.

Unbelievable story! Just goes to show that money cannot buy happiness. This case is another example of a child growing up not knowing who his true mother is, as seen in the case of Ted Bundy. This story is laced with greed until it culminates in a horrific murder.

Lois Duncan is a great author for suspenseful thrillers for teens (12 & up is what Amazon suggests as the reading age). Is the main character's cousin really her cousin or an imposter? Duncan is a master at weaving interesting twists into her stories. Read this book and then watch the 1978 movie by the same title starring Linda Blair (on DVD at Amazon). Both are cult favorites.

This is a disturbing story of how a severely disturbed man was able to manipulate a frumpy mother to aid in his pursuit of killing women. His perversions knew no boundaries as he was also a child molester. The story of Doug Clark and Carol Bundy (no relation to Ted Bundy) is reminiscent of Sacramento, California, serial killers Gerald Gallego and Charlene Williams. Great book!
